Karen Saunders - bio Karen Saunders is one of the most versatile and dynamic artists performing today. Whether singing standards in an intimate club, such as the 40 seat Cognac Bar at Toulouse on the Park in Chicago, or belting out Broadway songs with the 85 piece Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra at the 2500 seat Pikes Peak Center, Karen feels at home. Beyond her great singing voice, she has personality plus. Karen is funny, engaging and warm, dealing with a crowd of strangers as though they were all friends at a party in her living room.

Karen is a recipient of the MAC Award and Backstage Bistro Award and is listed in the International Who's Who of Musicians. In New York, Karen starred in the Village Gate's 25th Anniversary production of Jacques Brel, where she stopped the show every night with her rendition of "Carousel." Every note packed a wallop with critics who used words such as hypnotic, spellbinding and electrifying to describe her performance. She has performed at Michael's Pub, Downtime, B. Smith's, the World Trade Center's Summer Series, Eighty Eights, the prestigious 92 Street Y's Lyrics & Lyricists Series, The Supper Club, Merkin Hall, The Bottom Line, and Carnegie Hall. Karen has shared the stage with Billy Crystal, Jay Leno, Jackie Mason, Rodney Dangerfield, Paul Reiser, Robert Klein and Joy Behar, to mention a few. Karen has appeared on the Charles Grodin Show and Good Day New York. On CD, she can be heard on the remake of Martin Charnin's Marta Hari as Pistolette, a new cast recording of Breakfast at Tiffany's, and a CD of music by composer Herbert Deutsch called Woman in Darkness.

Her latest CD, Bosom Buddies, teams her with her good pal, Broadway and TV's Carol Woods, in a live recording of their show of the same name. She is currently preparing to record her first solo CD.
